I am Number Four
Saw this premeire last night...
Movie had everything a terrible, cheesy movie needed... odd, poorly explained plot, no-name actors (for the most part), stupid aliens, over-played special effects... But I loved it. The acting was decent, pretty good in some cases... The characters were predictable and pretty lame, but some of the dialogue was clever and surprisingly funny. All in all, it had some good action, some interesting interactions, and was quite entertaining... I NEVER would have paid to see this movie, based on what I saw in the previews... but after seeing it for free, I'd say it's easily worth the matinee rates at least... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5djHG3hPu0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oP6zhpST3Ro |

Considering there is more than one book, I would guess no.

Thanks for the write up, based on the previews hubby and I were really interested in seeing it this weekend. Maybe we'll wait.

Umm... No. And frankly, I'm interested in a possible sequel...
Some of the usual Michael Bay stuff... though, I didn't realize it was an MB film actually... it wasn't that over the top. Don't get me wrong Rae, I enjoyed the movie a lot... ONSSP and I both did... It was just NOT at all what I expected... I was expecting it to be completely serious, but there was a solid amount of humor in it... It didn't take itself too serious, which is a really good thing for a movie like this IMHO... That said, seeing the previews, I expected the plot to be about as weak as it was... Like I said, I wouldn't have paid to see this movie based on the previews, but I was pleasantly surprised... |

Its story line seems to strongly resemble that old tv series Roswell to an extent. Truth or no?

Quote:
The original trailer pretty much sums it up... Aliens come to Earth after their world is destroyed... the guys who destroyed it come to Earth to finish the job and take it over as well... Alien leading man discovers his powers and how to harness them (over the course of about 5 min in the movie)... bigass fight and the world is safe... for now. |
