1. I respect the proposal for the fact that hes putting his money where his mouth is and doing it immediately, this proposal would have to be passed by the end of the year.

2. It seems more symbolic than anything else, 2 B is just a drop in the bucket and Im pretty sure the timing of the proposal was chosen to not only put the pressure on congress but also decrease the chances of it actually passing. When it doesnt pass, Obama can say "I tried" and doesnt have to deal with angry government workers.

3. As a federal employee it sucks. Im already paid less than people in my field who work in private industry.
